Book Shack is a registered Secondhand Bookstore and you may buy books which you are welcome to keep or receive an exchange credit on their return to purchase another book. We stock a vast selection of good quality books catering for all ages in a relaxed environment. The shop is not floor to ceiling books by choice. Depending on stock levels Sharon may purchase some of your books providing credit in store (does not buy for cash). Please only bring in one shopping bag size of your good quality tightly bound books for possible credit. We will always offer exchange credit on Book Shack books purchased provided our barcode is still on our book.
Where possible our focus is on being an eco-friendly “feel good” affordable store whether by recycling books, or stocking items made from recycled products such as coffee sacks,
horse & chicken feed sacks, fruit orchard netting, cement bags, rice & fish feed sacks, paper, etc. Also supporting fair-trade organisations where people are being paid correct wages for their creative skills. Sharon also has her own label now “Shack Sack” – these are handcrafted recycled items that a little bit quirky. Messenger Bags, “Flapper” Hand fans, Shack Sack Packs including Pencil cases, Toiletry Bags, Utility Bags, Lip Balm Holders, “Kemish” Bags, “Rami” purase, “Brolly Bookmarks. These are made in the workshop with the help of family & friends.

BOOK SHACK Store has been in Sandgate location since March, 2009 – to reclaim my quality of life, Sharon has recently relocated Book Shack to a shop under her house at Deagon – 3 streets away. Now trading 4 days a week in lieu of 7 days a week. Plenty of street parking. Closest Railway Station is Deagon Station, 2 blocks away.
Book Shack Fairtrade/Recycled Festival Stall is at many festivals including Gympie Music Muster, and all time favourite – Woodford Folk Festival.
