For the first time, Book Shack will have a Fairtrade / Recycled Gifts & Book Accessories Market stall at the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, Goomeri – approximately 265km north-west Brisbane.  This a great day for the family with an event filled day of entertainment, fun and frivolity.  Join thousands of people who flock to the small town of Goomeri to particpate in or watch pumpkins, rolling, jumping, dawdling and bouncing down Policeman’s Hill. Try your luck at Pumpkin Bowls, Pumpkin Power shot put competition, decorate a pumpkin, join in the pageant. Great prize money, range of market stalls, dinner dance, animal farm nursery, live entertainment….Awesome outing and something different !

Book Shack will have a Fairtrade/Recycled Gifts & Book Accessories market stall at the Kitefest, Pelican Park, Clontarf on Sunday, 20th May, 2012.  This Festival actually runs for 2 days, both Saturday and Sunday, but Book Shack will only have a stall on the Sunday – 9am-4pm. Come and enjoy a great day of entertainment where skilled kite-flyers take to the sky with a vast range of kites plus quality arts & crafts market stalls, entertainment & exciting food from around the world.  Lots of fun !

Book Shack will have a Fairtrade / Recycled Gifts & Book Accessories stall at the Twilight Markets, Sandgate Town Hall,  Cnr Cliff & Seymour Street, Sandgate on Friday 4th May 2012 – 5.30pm-8.30pm.  $10 entry at the door, includes a champagne on arrival and cheese platters.  There will be a variety of market stalls on offer and a great fundraiser supporting Destiny Rescue’s inspirational work – preventing the sale of children into slavery and prostitution, and rescuing those who have already been sold into this terrible trade.  A great way to spend a Friday night with fun & ambiance, chance to purchase Mother’s Day gifts and support a worthy cause.

Book Shack will have a stall at this festival selling  Recycled / Fair-trade Gifts, Bags, Book Accessories and stationery items.  The “Festival of Sails” is held at Suttons Beach, Redcliffe from 9am-4pm.  This colourful, seaside festival celebrates the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and has over 100 specialty market and gourmet stalls dotted along Suttons Beach.  There willbe live music, roving entertainers, sand sculptures, Easter Egg hunt and a parachuting Easter Bunny.

Sunday, 28th August – Bundaberg Multi-Cultural Festival, Riverside Parklands, Quay Street, Bundaberg from 9am – 4pm.  Over 140 stalls with a variety of different wares / food will be on offer.  Book Shack will have fairtrade / recycled gifts, stationery and book accessories…so if in the area – pop on in to out Site Number 39.

A great new travel website called http://www.oetravelblogs.com/has emerged on the scene and I highly recommend that if you are considering some traveling in the future, then hop on over and check their website. What’s great about it is that everyone writes in and puts their own experiences on display so everyone else gets the benefit of their feedback.
